Unlock the full potential of your statistics by turning them into stories that span across multiple channels. In this workshop we delve into the art of asking questions and equip you with the skills and strategies needed to extract peak performance from your stats and stories across various mediums; in video and beyond. We'll explore how to take a stat, turn it into a story and then use that story again and again. Amelia Kohm | Data Viz for Nonprofits
We hear a lot about applying data to action. But for data to make an impact, it must first take a journey through the human mind. Understanding the challenges of that journey helps us to present data so that the mind can actually see, grasp, remember, and apply it. In this workshop, participants will learn about: Attention and Memory. How to present data so that it not only makes it through the entry gate (attention) but stays there long enough to influence decision making (memory).
Perception. How to present data to avoid the human mind's perception glitches and to capitalize on its perception super powers. Specifically, we will consider:
Data blind spots
Social influence
Assumptions and beliefs
Visual super processing
