WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION

Lapsed donors, individuals who have previously supported your nonprofit but have since stopped, represent a valuable opportunity for re-engagement. They are more likely to donate again than someone unfamiliar with your organization, as they’ve already invested in your mission. This training focuses on strategies to improve donor retention and re-engage these supporters, including practical approaches to captivating and cultivating donor relationships. Whether you're part of a fundraising team of one or ten, you'll gain actionable ideas to retain, re-engage, and upgrade your donors. We’ll dive into the importance of donor phone calls—an essential yet often overlooked tool in today’s fundraising landscape. You’ll learn techniques for making mid-to-major gift calls, what to say when you're unsure, and how phone calls can serve as powerful stewardship and cultivation tools. With real-world insights, this session will help you feel confident in making calls, building stronger donor connections, and achieving your fundraising goals.

ABOUT THE TRAINER

This training is led by Dr. Leah Weiner who has a doctorate in education and psychology from Pepperdine University. Leah Weiner is the Founder and CEO of the Nonprofit Learning Lab. Leah’s approach to training focuses on making sure that the information provided helps participants solve a problem or create a solution related to their professional work.
